Several organizations will host Veterans Day events today and this weekend.

Chaffee Crossing will host its 5th annual Veterans Day parade and celebration Saturday on Terry Street at Chaffee Crossing, according to a news release.

This year’s theme is “A Salute to Women in the Military,” and the first female general of the Arkansas Air National Guard, Brigadier Gen. Tamhra Hutchins-Frye, is the parade’s grand marshal. The honorary grand marshal will be Col. Bobbi Doorenbos, commander of the Arkansas Air National Guard 188th Wing in Fort Smith.

Sen. John Boozman will present medals to at least two families of deceased soldiers at 11 a.m.
