Students at Barton High School have additional computers to use thanks to U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-AR) participation in a program that channels surplus computers into classrooms across the country.

The U.S. Senate’s Computers for Schools program helps public schools stay connected in the digital age by donating computers no longer used in the Senate to public schools for use in their classrooms.

“I appreciate the work the Barton-Lexa School District is doing to prepare students for the future," said Boozman. "It is critical that our schools have the tools necessary for learning in the 21st Century. This program puts surplus equipment to good use and help schools fill their technology needs.I am pleased that these computers will fill an important need for the school.”

Barton Superintendent David Tollett said, “The Barton-Lexa School District would like to thank Senator Boozman for providing us with five new computers for student use. These computers will be used for seniors to fulfill college admissions standards, complete concurrent credit work, and apply for scholarships. Thank you Senator Boozman for your support of Arkansas public schools and our students’ aspirations to go to college. Thanks for caring.”
